Registered Dental Assistant

Part-time | Walnut Creek, CA

We are seeking a part-time Registered Dental Assistant to work Friday and Saturday from 9:00am - 6:00pm. This position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Golden State Dentistry, as well as demonstrating behavior consistent with core values of the practice. 

The Registered Dental Assistant will be a key member of the team, supporting the practice by preparing patients for and assisting with treatment, ensuring confidentiality of patient information, complying with all regulatory and clinic-mandated policies, maintaining a safe and comfortable care environment, and advocating for the best outcomes among patients and your fellow care provider. In addition to necessary industry certifications and education, the Registered Dental Assistant will possess outstanding time management, communication, customer service, and technical skills (e.g. dental software and scheduling). The Registered Dental Assistant will bring a can-do attitude, a proactive nature, a strong sense of ownership and integrity, and desire to continue to learn and grow.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient
  • Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
  • Provide instrumentation by sterilizing instruments and preparing trays for filling, crown, and endo procedure
  • Assists the dentist during examination and treatment of patients
  • Mix silicates and other restorative materials
  • Place and remove rubber dams, matrix bands and temporary separating devices
  • Select and pre-fit provisional crowns and orthodontic bands
  • Take impressions for study/diagnostic casts, space maintainers, orthodontic appliances and occlusal guards
  • Remove periodontal dressings, temporary cement and sutures placed by dentists
  • Apply topical, anticarcinogenic agents and desensitizing agents to the teeth
  • Take high quality digital X-Ray
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Registered Dental Assistant certification
  • X-Ray certification
  • CPR certification
  • Infection Control certification
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of prior dental assisting experience
  • Bilingual in English and Russian a plus

Registered Dental Hygienist

Part-time | Walnut Creek, CA

Golden State Dentistry, a growing dental practice in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist to work on Thursday and/or Saturday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. This position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Golden State Dentistry, as well as demonstrating behavior consistent with core values of the practice. 

The Registered Dental Hygienist will play an important role in teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene techniques, offering counseling regarding good nutrition and its impact on oral health, ensuring confidentiality of patient information, complying with all regulatory and clinic-mandated policies, maintaining a safe and comfortable care environment, and advocating for the best outcomes among patients and your fellow care provider. In addition to necessary license, certification, and education, the Registered Dental Hygienist will bring a patient-centric and positive attitude, outstanding communication skills, a focus on quality and 5-star service, and a strong sense of ownership and integrity.

Responsibilities:
• Perform intra-oral examinations for indications of needed dental work, and refer patients to dentist
• Administer dental prophylaxes, including ultrasonic, hand, and gross scaling, debridement, polishing of tooth, deep cleaning, sealant placement, fluoride treatment, and teeth whitening treatment
• Deliver comfortable local anesthetic injections
• Take high quality digital X-Rays
• Document dental care services by charting in patient records
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and recommended treatment plan
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• License to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist in California
• Professional Liability Insurance
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have a gentle touch and demeanor, and be very caring
• Minimum of 1-2 years of prior dental hygienist experience
• Bilingual in English and Russian a plus
