Dental Assistant (RDA or DA)

Full-time | Walnut Creek, CA

We are seeking a full-time Registered Dental Assistant to work at our Walnut Creek, CA office Tuesday - Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm. This position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Golden State Dentistry, as well as demonstrating behavior consistent with core values of the practice

The Registered Dental Assistant will support the practice by preparing patients for and assisting with treatment, ensuring confidentiality of patient information, complying with all regulatory and clinic-mandated policies, maintaining a safe and comfortable care environment, and advocating for the best outcomes among patients and your fellow care provider. In addition to necessary industry certifications and education, the Registered Dental Assistant will possess outstanding time management, communication, customer service, and technical skills (e.g. dental software and scheduling). The Registered Dental Assistant will bring a can-do attitude, a proactive nature, and a strong sense of ownership and integrity.


  • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient
  • Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
  • Provide instrumentation by sterilizing instruments and preparing trays for filling, endo, crown, and implant procedures
  • Assists the dentist during examination and treatment of patients
  • Mix silicates and other restorative materials
  • Place and remove rubber dams, matrix bands and temporary separating devices
  • Select and pre-fit provisional crowns and orthodontic bands
  • Take impressions for study/diagnostic casts, space maintainers, orthodontic appliances and occlusal guards
  • Remove periodontal dressings, temporary cement and sutures placed by dentists
  • Apply topical, anticarcinogenic agents and desensitizing agents to the teeth
  • Take high quality digital X-Rays
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and COVID19 policies and protocols
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Registered Dental Assistant certification
  • X-Ray certification
  • CPR certification
  • Infection Control certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior dental assisting experience
  • Must be authorized to work for any US employer
